Peer to peer support for physicians is a powerful tool for fostering physician wellness. When caring for patients, providers routinely manage difficult personal emotions and challenging interpersonal dynamics. A skilled peer supporter can create a non-judgmental space which allows for open and honest reflection on a variety of difficult subjects.

Our Training for Peer Supporters

We offer a high caliber training series for physician and non-physician staff which teaches foundational skills for becoming an effective peer mentor.

Key capacities enabling mentors to establish a supportive, attuned stance:

  • Levels of Listening

  • Reflecting Content & Theme

  • Normalizing, Validating & Empathizing

  • Framing Non-directive “Open and Honest” Questions
